Reddit account-health checklist

What this is

A static checklist. There is no form on this page that accepts a username and returns a verdict. Third-party checkers go stale, ask for more access than they need, or confuse a subreddit removal with a sitewide shadowban.

Use Reddit while logged out, Reddit Help, and the appeal page. Those are the source of truth.

A missing comment is not always a shadowban

• Subreddit karma or account-age gates hide posts from everyone but you. That is a community rule, not a sitewide ban.
• Automod can remove a comment for a link, a domain, or a banned phrase.
• A shadowban is when the profile and new posts look fine to you, and missing to almost everyone else.
• A suspension or lock usually comes with a message. Read Reddit's account status overview before you assume the worst.

Check with Reddit's own pages

1. Open a private window, stay logged out, and visit https://www.reddit.com/user/yourusername. If the profile is a blank page or "nobody" to logged-out viewers, treat that as a serious restriction and use the appeal link next. If the profile loads and recent posts are visible, you are probably not shadowbanned.
2. Open reddit.com/appeal while logged into that account. Community help often reports that a healthy account cannot submit an appeal, and a restricted account can. Read the page you get. Do not take our word over Reddit's.
3. Read Account status overview on Reddit Help for bans, locks, and spam flags. Then the rest of Reddit Help if the first article does not match.
4. Skim the Reddit Rules and Content Policy. Vote manipulation, ban evasion, and spam are the usual ways founder outreach gets an account into trouble.
5. Review reddit.com/settings for the account you actually use. Do not mix a brand-new alt into the same outreach burst as your main.
6. r/ShadowBan is a community where people and bots look at visibility. It is not a Founder CRM feature and not an official Reddit Inc product page. Use it if you want a second pair of eyes, after the logged-out check.

Habits that keep an account usable

• Answer the question that was asked. Pitch after you have been useful, or not at all.
• Read the subreddit rules before you mention a product. Some do not allow links.
• Do not paste the same paragraph into five communities in ten minutes.
• Do not buy accounts, share accounts, or evade a ban you already have.
• New accounts need time and ordinary comments. A first-week launch blast is how people get filtered.
