F5Bot alternative

F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News, and Lobsters for keywords and emails you when they appear. That is a real product. Founder CRM does not replace that feed. It is for the hour after the alert: open the thread as yourself, decide if the person is a fit, write the reply, and keep the name.

What F5Bot is good at

F5Bot has been a keyword alert for years. You add phrases, it watches Reddit, Hacker News, and Lobsters, and mail shows up when those words appear. If your job is "tell me when someone mentions the product name," that is the job.

We are not going to invent a slower clone of that inbox, and we will not claim a poll interval we do not run.

The alert is the easy half. The hard half is everything after:

  • The digest is full of jokes, hiring posts, and people who already bought something else.
  • There is no list of humans, only links that rot in a mail folder.
  • The temptation is to paste one comment into every match. That is how accounts start looking like scripts. See the account-health checklist.

The Founder CRM wedge

Founder CRM is a free Chrome extension. You describe who you want. It opens Reddit or X in the session you are already signed into, keeps the people who fit, and stores them on this machine. Follow-ups come back on the morning they are due. You write every message.

There is no Founder CRM mention crawler. If a flow runs on a schedule, it still runs in your browser, as you, when that Chrome profile is available. That is not the same product as a server watching keywords all day.

Starter phrases, if you search by hand, are on the buyer-keyword page.

You can use both

Keep F5Bot if brand mentions in email still matter. Use Founder CRM on the days you are actually going to talk to people. They do not compete until someone promises that an alert feed is a CRM.

If you came here from the GummySearch wind-down, start with the what founders use now for the research side, then this page for the alert side.

Pages, not comment spray

An inbox of keyword hits is a prompt to type. It is a bad prompt if the type is identical every time. Write the explanation once on your own site. Reply in the thread like a person who read the question. Keep the name.

Install Founder CRM for the list. Free tools if you want the checklists first. More product comparisons live under alternatives.

Questions founders ask

Does Founder CRM email me when a keyword appears?
No. We do not run a Reddit, Hacker News, or Lobsters mention monitor.
Is F5Bot bad?
No. It does keyword alerts. Use it for that. Use Founder CRM when you want people and follow-ups in Chrome.
Will you add live monitoring later?
Not as a hosted poller that watches Reddit without you. The product is local, in your browser, and you send every message.
