Who is actually reachable
Launch day puts a lot of names on a page. Only some of them can take a message. Look for a maker on the launch team, not a hunter-only account and not Product Hunt staff. Then look for a Message button you can use, and an X link if the Product Hunt message path is closed.
We are not going to invent a percentage of makers who leave DMs open. Open the profile. If there is no door, skip them. A congrats comment with no specific sentence is not a substitute.

A Tuesday playbook
- Open today's Product Hunt. Read the product, not only the tagline.
- Stay on makers with a Maker badge. Skip hunter-only profiles.
- Prefer a Message button, or a public X link you can actually open.
- Write one sentence about the thing they shipped. Stop if you cannot.
- Add a second sentence about why you are writing, only if it is true.
- File the person so you do not congratulate them again next week.

A message that works names their product and a real observation. A message that does not:
- "Congrats on the launch" plus a calendar link.
