Why Product Hunt outreach is a real channel
A maker who launched this morning is in a rare mood: they want users, they are reading comments, and many of them put a Message button on the profile. That is a warmer door than a cold X follow, and a more specific one than a Reddit thread about a different product.
It is also easy to waste. Congrats comments that could have been written by anyone. A DM that says "love the launch" and a Calendly link. Hunting by hand until you have three names and no record of who you already messaged.

- Open today's Product Hunt. Read the actual product, not only the tagline.
- Look at Launch Team makers with a Maker badge. Skip hunter-only accounts and Product Hunt staff.
- Prefer people who publish an X link and a Message button you can actually use.
- Write one specific sentence about the thing they shipped. Then, if it is honest, one sentence about why you are reaching out.
- File the person so you do not congratulate them twice next week.
